Rangers outcast Sam Lammers has been named Eredivisie Player of the Month for April.

With 9 goals in 15 matches, Lammers is currently FC Utrecht's top scorer in the 2023/2024 season.

No player in the Dutch top-flight scored more goals in April than the 27-year-old. Lammers found the net five times last month, making him the first FC Utrecht player to score in seven consecutive Eredivisie matches.

He is the first Dutchman to achieve this in the Eredivisie since AZ Alkmaar's Vincent Janssen eight years ago.

A post by Utrecht on X read: "Sam Lammers has been elected Eredivisie Player of the Month for April. Class Sam."

Lammers arrived at Rangers last summer in a £3million deal from Atalanta but struggled to make his mark, with just two goals and two assists from 32 outings - 19 as a starter.

That prompted boss Philippe Clement, who inherited the forward from Michael Beale, to allow him to leave on-loan in January. Lammers joined Utrecht and has found the best form of his career to date - which suggests his price tag, should Rangers want to cash in this summer, has increased.
