Allan McGregor: Played the ball out well on a few occasions, providing accurate clipped balls. Needed better from his defence for United’s goal. 6
James Tavernier: Targeted early on as the hosts shelled balls to try and turn the defence. Had a couple of shots from decent areas that failed to find the target and then made a crucial block to deny Niskanen. Contributed more in an attacking sense as the game wore on and a number of crosses could well have provided goals. 7
Connor Goldson: Arguably could have defended better in the lead up to United’s goal. Did pretty well under pressure when playing out from the back, although the right-sided link-up which has served his side well in recent weeks wasn’t quite as fluid. 6
Fil Helander: Reintroduced for his first start in the league since a trip to St Johnstone last September, looked slightly leggy as he gave a foul away on McNulty. United went close to an opener after the Swede was beaten by the No.9 again before Niskanen’s deflected effort and was beaten by Graham as his side conceded the first. 5
Calvin Bassey: Restored to his left-back slot and although he showed quick feet in some instances, he at times held onto the ball for too long and slowed proceedings. With Kent man-marked there was more needed from Bassey in an attacking sense. Made his impact going forward with a superb cut-back that was converted by Joe Aribo with 15 minutes to go. 6
Ryan Jack: Has undoubtedly improved the midfield since his return from injury. Did lots of hard yards and generally used the ball well, if occasionally lacking the final ball to prise open a compact defence. Constantly tried to motor his team forward and maintain pressure. 7
John Lundstram: Filled defensive gaps really well and provided a platform for his team to build some pressure alongside Jack. Gave the ball away cheaply on a few occasions as he rotated into the deeper areas of the pitch. Filled in at centre-back as his side chased the game. 6
Scott Arfield: Made the wrong decision on a couple of occasions when played through in the area. After the break, he had good opportunities from the right side but wasn’t able to capitalise on them. 5
Joe Aribo: Wasn’t found quick enough in the first 45, often only receiving the ball once any space he had occupied was closed up again. A fantastic front-post header was stopped really well by Benji Siegrist. Picked up an excellent position to equalise after Bassey’s cut-back. 7
Ryan Kent: Arguably played his best game in a Rangers shirt on Thursday against Dortmund, bright before the break but had a hard task being man-marked throughout. Really unfortunate to not find the net after a superb run from midfield. Often fouled when he got ahead of steam and played his part in the equaliser. 7
Alfredo Morelos: Came into the game in the best form of his Ibrox career, didn’t have great service in the first period up against a back three. Two near-misses from Sakala’s fired crosses were unfortunate. Went close on a number of occasions but couldn’t find the crucial moment. 6
Substitutions
Fashion Sakala: Came on just before the hour on the right. Immediately offered some pace and direction down the right and could have created two goals before the 70-minute mark. 7
Amad Diallo: Looked a little overawed after coming on for the final stages. Clipped the post after going through one-v-one. 5
