Allan McGregor: Could arguably have acted more aggressively when an early cross was floated towards the back post and converted by Elliot. Uninvolved otherwise aside from with his feet. 6

James Tavernier: Crossed the ball that lead to a penalty award before blazing his effort over the bar uncharacteristically. Managed to whip in another couple of deliveries although didn’t link with Ramsey as he had last weekend. Delivered a superb cross that led to Ramsey’s equaliser on the hour. 7

Connor Goldson: Looked shaky in possession, epitomised by his pass out the park when looking to find Helander. Improved as the game wen on and didn’t offer the hosts any attacking encouragement. Scored one of the season's most important goals right at the death. 8

Filip Helander: Like his centre-back partner, the bid defender struggled to start passing moves with an unreliable playing surface constantly posing problems. Replaced at the interval as Rangers’ chased the game. 6

Calvin Bassey: Endured a very poor opening period with the ball constantly bobbling over his foot and when he did get the ball his passes into Kent only invited the press. Improved in this regard after the break, moving from inside to out and overlapping successfully. 6

John Lundstram: Manged to move the ball from side to side and try to open the game. Moved back into defence at the interval and offered a better option on the ball than Helander, also won his long ball duels to not offer Dundee respite. 6

James Sands: Reinstated in the midfield having played well on his last visit to Dens. Got on the ball in moments but alongside Lundstram the balance didn’t look as complimentary. Kept his place after the interval and did the hard yards until he was replaced by Roofe. 6

Aaron Ramsey: Played well at this venue last week but couldn’t dictate the flow this time around. Moved centrally after the break and grabbed the game by the scruff of the neck, creating one clear opportunity and seeing a header of his own cleared of the line before scoring himself. 8

Scott Arfield: Had a really poor first half, only involved sporadically but his brief passes were slack and ended in moves breaking down. Not his game and he was replaced at the interval. 5

Ryan Kent: Couldn’t beat his man but wasn’t helped by his teammates. With Bassey playing straight balls into the Englishman’s feet, the job of the Dundee defence became easier, able to match up aggressively and stop him in his tracks. Improved after the break with better passing options and helped create the equaliser. 7

Alfredo Morelos: Looked to go through the motion somewhat but made a clever back post run earned a penalty that Tavernier missed. Couldn’t drop in to receive with Rangers reluctant to play through the pitch and was isolated up top on his own. Saw one header well saved after the break. 6

Substitutes

Joe Aribo: Introduced at the interval to play at the top of the midfield. Added some attacking influence and ball-carrying ability which was needed. 5

Fashion Sakala: Offered his usual unorthodox and at times successful deliveries into the box after finding the touchline. Too predictable often with his running, Sakala’s lack of composure was at times costly however his pass in the lead up to the winner was excellent. 6

Kemar Roofe: Was involved just after coming off the bench when intelligent movement saw him peel off to the back post and assist Ramsey. Also played a big part in the second. He always provides goals. 7
