Calvin Bassey is set to move to Dutch champions Ajax - with Rangers set to scoop a record fee.
The Ibrox club have negotiated a €22m guaranteed price plus €5m worth of add-ons - taking the overall package to a gigantic €27m.
They will also benefit from a 10 percent sell-on which would kick in for any fee garnered by Ajax that is over the initial sale price.
The 22-year-old has been happy at Ibrox but is understood to be one of the lower earners in the Rangers first team and will benefit from a significant uplift in salary.
The fee is far in excess of the club's previous transfer record, broken in the January window when Nathan Patterson moved to Everton for a package of £16.5m.
The deals mean sporting director Ross Wilson has been able to bring in £40m for the two kids who started the 21/22 season as back-up full-backs.
Bassey was signed in 2020 from Leicester City for a paltry £230,000 using the controversial cross-border loophole that also enabled them to sign Joe Aribo for relative peanuts.
He slowly worked his way into the side under Steven Gerrard but it wasn't until Giovanni van Bronckhorst arrived that his career moved to another level.
The Dutchman saw an aggression in his play that marked him out as a potential world-class centre-back and began using him there after an injury crisis.
Bassey excelled and his form only improved as the season went on, culminating in a heroic showing in the latter stages of the Europa League, including the final.
The move means Rangers are now in the market for a left-back, with only Croatian Borna Barisic currently in the squad.
