Jon McLaughin: Continuing his place in goal, McLaughlin had little to do all afternoon. Was safe in possession and claimed any potentially dangerous high balls. 6

James Tavernier: The captain made some good contributions driving inside the pitch and often found himself in central areas, with Scott Wright often taking the outside lane. Increasingly picked up the ball in the middle and came close with a couple of through balls. Strong on the ball as ever and did brilliantly well for the fourth goal. 7

Connor Goldson: Stepped into the midfield regularly as John Lundstram moved higher up the pitch, even getting to the byline and whipping in a cross. Took a clever yellow card to stop a counter and won his duels throughout with his team only conceding one chance. 7

Ben Davies: Making his first start for the club, Davies was composed and dependable. A slight question mark over his defending for Bair’s chance as St Johnstone went close to an opener. That aside, Davies can be happy with a positive debut. 7

Borna Barisic: A rouge piece of defending so nearly provided the visitors with an opening goal on 20 minutes as Bair. Linked up with Matondo well in patches and seemed to play with confidence, particularly after the break. Hit the top of the net with a dipping free-kick as Rangers chased a second. 6

John Lundstram: Playing at the base of midfield, Lundstram moved higher than would usually be expected and controlled the game. Received high up the pitch, moved the ball quickly and went close with a few shots. Particularly after the break, he drove his team forwards relentlessly. Looks to be only improving in his role domestically. 8

Ryan Jack: Played up a line from Lundstram, Jack as involved in neat interplay around the penalty box and tested Matthews with a low drive before the break. Went close again before the end of the game and linked well with Tavernier on the right. 7

Scott Wright: Playing wide on the right from the start, the winger had a couple of bright early moments. Picking out Antonio Colak with a cross that nearly earned an early penalty and another that the Croatian nearly connected with. Made a couple of errors that aggravated the crowd but was generally solid. 6

Malik Tillman: Continued his impressive start to life at Rangers, the youngster broke the deadlock with another back-post header. That aside, he took the ball centrally, and manoeuvred his way beyond challenges with the necessary strength to ride tackles. Looks every bit a key player already and will be key on Tuesday. 8

Rabbi Matondo: The Welsh international started from the left but often received the ball with two or three opponents around him. Grew into the game and got to the byline on a few occasions before the break. Lost the ball in a compromising area soon after the restart before clipping the crossbar from range. Earned the second goal by winning the ball aggressively high up the pitch and assisted the third. 8

Antonio Colak: The forward’s movement in the box looked far improved to even a week ago and although he didn’t convert any early crosses, he looked on the same wavelength as his peers. Offered a physical focal point and was just a yard of pace away from capitalising on space in the second half. Took his goal superbly well after a regain high up the pitch afforded him a chance. 7

Substitutes

Scott Arfield: Made a positive impact from the bench, running beyond and linking well. Scored via a cutback before assisting the fourth. A great option to have in the squad. 7

Tom Lawrence: Took his goal well after arriving in the box to make it four. 7

Alfredo Morelos: More important minutes as he regains his sharpness. 5

Leon King: Helped to see out the game. 5

Glen Kamara: Went close with a through ball soon after arriving. 5
