Jon McLaughlin: Alert to thwart Luuk de Jong’s chance in the first half, albeit it was directed straight at him. Authoritative on the ball and he wasn’t afraid to go direct when his teammates were in trouble. Huge save one-on-one to deny PSV an equaliser. 7
James Tavernier: Had the unenviable task of attempting to stifle Cody Gakpo, especially amid the aggressive approach that Giovanni van Bronckhorst demands defensively. Dealt with a few aerial passes that PSV looked to launch in their wide man’s direction. Didn’t show too much aggression going forward as a result, but helped alleviate pressure in the latter stages. 7
Connor Goldson: Really good at slowing PSV’s attackers down when they approach goal with smart body orientation. Some sloppy moments on the ball, but he commanded Rangers’ aggressive approach from the back. Stood strong late on as PSV peppered the penalty area with crosses. 7
James Sands: Showed a lot of promise on the ball, emboldened enough to thread the ball into midfield instead of playing square across the backline. Recovered from a few early moments of nerve to produce solid consistency in defensive duels, covering space exceptionally well. His finest evening in a Rangers shirt. 8
Borna Barisic: Struggled in possession in the periods where PSV pressed aggressively in a 4-2-4. Always looked to spring a pass into Kent early. But he dealt with the growing threat of Saibari commendably and his aggression matched Rangers' approach. 7
John Lundstram: Moved in unision with Kamara and was never afraid to take the ball with his back to goal. Refined his cynical fouling technique by bringing down Xavi Simons as he scurried towards the Rangers penalty box. Alert to any pull-back situations towards the penalty spot. 7

Glen Kamara: Executed a gorgeous spin on the half-turn early in the first half, before replicating the feat 20 minutes later. Helped Rangers beat PSV’s aggressive press and planted a seed of doubt in the opponents when they applied individual pressure. Everything positive for Rangers flowed through him. 8
Tom Lawrence: The overload Rangers were able to create in midfield allowed him to receive in dangerous pockets on the outside of PSV’s midfield line. As was the case at Ibrox, faced a difficult defensive task in tracking Philipp Max deep into his own defensive third. Rattled the crossbar with a wonderful solo effort after the interval. 7
Malik Tillman: Sat on Sangare when PSV attempted to build possession from defence. His influence drifted in and out of the game, but he showed excellent endeavour to rob PSV in defence and the required composure to square the ball across to Colak. Improved in the second period. 7
Ryan Kent: Enjoyed some early encouragement as he was found in space on a couple of occasions. Guilty of being careless with the ball when he looked to combine. Still looks short of sharpness after returning from injury. 6
Antonio Colak: Replicated much that was good about his performance at Ibrox. Dropped short to provide a lay-off option to aid Rangers’ speed of passing and pressed diligently from the front. Had the simplest of tasks to open the scoring for van Bronckhorst’s side. 7
Substitutes
Scott Wright: Looked to stretch PSV in behind with his acceleration, drawing a booking for Obispo. 6
Scott Arfield: Helped see the game out with his industry off the ball. 6
Fashion Sakala Jr.: An injury time substitute. 5
