Allan McGregor: Could do nothing about Queen’s leveller that sailed over his head but showed good hands to hold a free-kick with the scores level. 6
Adam Devine: Timed his underlaps well and twice went close to following up those interventions with goals. Reversed one cross into the path of Arfield and hit the keeper with another. Acquitted himself well. 7
Ryan Jack: Playing an unfamiliar role at the back, Jack often stepped into the base of midfield as Davis moved higher. Gave the ball up slightly cheaply on a couple of occasions but was playing out of position for the entire 90. 6
Leon King: Was often left one-v-one at the back and although Reilly managed to win a few fouls against the young defender King generally came out on top. Showed quick feet in possession and acceleration to recover balls in behind the defence, but lost the ball cheaply soon after the break. Also hit a shot from range that narrowly missed the target. 7
Ridvan Yilmaz: Defended a one-v-one up against Paton aggressively on 15 minutes and then did brilliantly to create his side’s second of the day. Cutting through the defence with an underlap before playing the ball back into Arfield’s path. Also competed well aerially despite his marker standing a few inches taller. 7
Steven Davis: Everything went through the captain on the night as he moved forward from the No.6 position and coordinated attacks in the final third. Knitted together any cohesive moves Rangers fashioned. Was frustrated at the lack of movement in front of him at points. 7
Glen Kamara: Reluctant to pull the trigger but largely kept the ball moving forwards, playing higher up the pitch as he did last season. Received a yellow card for a tactical foul. Grew into the game and saw more of the ball after half-time. 7
Scott Arfield: Brought energy to the midfield as the hosts struggled to really control the opening exchanges and restored Rangers’ lead with a trademark late run and finish. Could’ve added another goal or two after getting on the end of similar cutbacks. The team's biggest goal threat and added the third late on. 8
Rabbi Matondo: Had mixed success on the right wing, getting to the byline and finding Arfield with crosses twice but also making the wrong final choice on other occasions. Unfortunate to find the side netting after going on his own late in the half. 6
Fashion Sakala: Created Ure’s opener after capitalising on a turnover and cutting the ball back, but played a horrendous backpass soon after that allowed Connelly to equalise. Found some success one-v-one throughout the rest of the game but also looked rusty when the ball was played to his feet. 5
Robbie Ure: Snatched at an early shot but took a chance in under 10 minutes to put the hosts ahead, marking a dream debut. Managed to hold the ball in at points and had another clear shot taken off his toes following a Matondo pass. 7
Substitutes
Zak Lovelace: The first of many first-team performances for a highly-rated youngster. 5
Charlie McCann: Played a cutting pass Devine almost latched onto before assisting Arfield with a cute flick. Made a good impact from the bench. 7
Archie Stevens: Played the final minutes. 5
Paul Nsio: Helped see out the game. 5
