Allan McGregor: Making his 500th appearance, the 41-year-old was rarely involved. Dealt with pressure on the ball well when called upon. A landmark day for a club legend. 7

James Tavernier: Had an early shot after arriving at the back post that was well stopped. Played the vertical pass that would lead to Tillman’s second of the game. Two good chances created by the 20-year-old for Tavernier could've made the lead more comfortable. 7

Connor Goldson: Was beaten too easily by Peter Pawlett as the visitors raced away threatening an early lead. Made the important pass into Cantwell’s pass to create his side’s first of the day. Carried out his defensive duties well. 7

Ben Davies: Covered well for his defensive partner to prevent Pawlett’s cross with a trailing foot early on. Played a couple of trademark passes into the feet of the striker and performed the other side of the game comfortably. 7

Borna Barisic: Returning to the starting 11, the Croatian wasn’t overly involved. Following a couple of early crosses play generally was directed down the right. A header at the back post nearly found the corner. 6

John Lundstram: Playing at the base of midfield, Lundstram tried to insert tempo but was guilty of causing turnovers. Moved deeper at points to combat Fletcher and allow the full-backs more freedom. Could've used the ball better. 6

Ryan Jack: Offered more going forwards than Lundstram and tried to play through the lines. Kept the team ticking over in the middle on his return from international duty. 6

Rangers Review:

Todd Cantwell: Had a quiet first half hour but kept plugging away, always making clever off-ball runs to fashion space for others. Eventually found a pass to unlock the visitors by reversing a ball into Malik Tillman’s path. It was a moment of quality in a half that lacked such interventions. Grew with the game and enjoyed increasing influence as time wore on. The best performer behind Tillman. 7

Ryan Kent: Had a couple of bright early moments tied in with some bad decisions. Crowded out on the edge of the area at one point while a stray pass inadvertently started a United counter on another. Struck the bar from range with a lovely, dipping effort and then missed a much easier chance after the break. Played the ball into Tillman’s path for the second. 6

Malik Tillman: Rangers’ best player on the day, how many times have we said that this season? Playing with slightly more attacking freedom, he carried the ball effectively and offered much-needed invention in tight spots. Culminated in a well-taken opener after Cantwell’s flick around the corner. Added a second after the break and fashioned two good chances for Tavernier. Just pay the money! 8

Alfredo Morelos: The Colombian was handed his chance by Beale having been kept out by Colak and Sakala. Generally linked well and provided a central passing option. Should’ve had at least one goal when connecting from corners. Had a strong effort just before being replaced. 6

Substitutes

Fashion Sakala: Replaced Morelos for the final 20 minutes. Could've used the ball better in transition. 5

Scott Wright: Came on at right wing-back in place of Tavernier.

John Souttar: Helped see out the game. 4

Antonio Colak: Had a good chance from a cross. 4

Scott Arfield: Provided energy in the closing stages. 4
