How are the players keeping fresh during such a testing schedule?
The boys come in, do recovery sessions, use the pool and use ice baths, have massages, we’re doing all the right things to stay fresh and ready to go for the next matchday.
Tomorrow is a big day as the club celebrate their 150th anniversary, how do the players deal with that?
The most important thing is getting the three points. We have to be focused and ready to go because it’s a massive three points and we want to be able to get it come the final whistle.
A big week for Rangers, how difficult is it to manage so many games?
As long as we do what we’re meant to do in terms of recovery then we’re ready to go again. We have the right staff put in place to make sure we have that, I wouldn’t say it’s too difficult.
How important is three points tomorrow?
Very! We’re focused on the three points and that’s our aim.
Would you take nine 1-0s at this stage with results superseding performance?
The attackers want to get numbers on the board but like you said, the most important thing is the three points. If it’s 1-0, 2-1, as long as we’re getting the three points that’s the most important thing.
Are you relishing the tight title race?
It’s nice to have because it gives the moments for big players to step up, that’s what we need, big characters in our dressing room. Come the next game we hope that will be there and we can get three points.
How would you assess your own form since returning from AFCON?
For me personally, I wanted to get more numbers in terms of goals and assists, I think for myself I’ve not been at my best compared to before I left for international duty. But, in football, you have these dips in form throughout a season. Hopefully, I can move past that and come tomorrow to produce a strong performance and move forward from there.
Is it just working hard and waiting for a break?
I think I just need to work my hardest to get back into form and that’s what I’m doing every single day. I want to be my best when I’m on the pitch so that’s what I’m hoping to do.
