Everything Giovanni van Bronckhorst said to Sky Sports after the 2-1 win over Dundee at Dens Park.
Giovanni, how do you sum that up?
It's a big relief of course to come away with the three points today. It was a tough game. We didn’t start well and they were 1-0 in front. We missed the penalty in the first half. Second half we created more chances and sometimes you have to be a little bit lucky which we were in the end. The ball dropped for Connor. We put an extra striker in so we had three strikers and in the first attack he scores. So that was really good and we could change back to our normal system. Today could have cost us two big points but we kept the belief to work hard and win the game in difficult circumstances. The pitch wasn’t ideal for us to play. They gave it no water, only during the game so it was a bit strange. In the end you have to overcome these situations and you know they will do everything to get a good result. You need to play on and make sure you go off as winners.
What did you say at half-time to get that impact?
I told them we have everything to play for and we’re still in with a fight for the championship. We needed to change our level a bit and we made two changes with Fashion Sakala and Joe Aribo so we had more width, more threat in going behind the defence which showed in the second half. I’m really pleased with all the players because now we lose them for international duties so we will have a little break now.

Is it good to have a break or are you nervous about them going away for internationals?
I had the feeling as a player. I loved to be involved with my country and it’s an honour so I get that. Of course, after the games, you want them back as soon as possible with no injuries so hopefully, everyone is on board when we start over.
Was the tennis balls and ticker tape on the pitch very disruptive?
Of course it’s disruptive because you want to play the game and we had three or four breaks because of the cleaning up. It’s a disruption but I know there are emotions so they have to show their emotions. That’s good to see but you need to have the balance. It was disruptive for us today but I understand the emotions of the fans but we all go back with three points in our bag.
