Everything Connor Goldson said to Rangers TV after the game.
Connor, sum up your feelings after that?
I’m buzzing, proud, tired. I’m proud of everyone. It’s what we had to give this week so after what we had to give this week, I’m really proud.
That’s four hours of football in as many days, how are you and the boys feeling after that?
Yeah, tired, but when you win you feel less tired. We used the two days in between to recover. My legs didn’t feel great this morning. But it’s an Old Firm and once you get into it your legs take care of themselves. We said at half-time fatigue is mental, your body can always take you where you want to go. I’m proud of everyone to play 120 minutes and win on Thursday then again today is a magnificent effort.
And not only just to play but to win after coming back from 1-0 down?
Yeah, it was tough. We were in a very good position as well in the game. I don’t think they had too many chances and I don’t think we got organised quick enough at the free-kick. It’s a scruffy shot, takes a deflection and you’re 1-0 down. You think ‘Not again, surely.’ But the boys showed amazing character. Scotty Arfield, I just said to him in there, ‘big players, big moments’. He missed a big chance on Thursday and everyone slates him. He gets one chance today and gets the equaliser. I’m made up for him.
What did the manager say after the 90 minutes going into extra time?
I don’t know. I don’t have a clue. I was drinking Lucozade and getting energy gels. I think the boys got round themselves and we knew this was a massive moment for us. We have had four years and we haven’t managed to get to a Scottish Cup Final. And to be honest, you look at Celtic and they looked leggy. Even though they didn’t have a game on Thursday. I think they were getting tired and we could see that as well. That probably gave us a bit more momentum and belief that we could go on and win.

I know it’s a cliché but how big a factor were the crowd?
Yeah, they were. Especially after we got the first goal. They really got up and got behind us. You could sense a little bit of doubt when their first goal went in. When we went a goal down the Rangers end went a bit quiet but as soon as we scored that equaliser they pushed us then for the next 45 minutes and we are just glad we could send them home with a smile on their faces.
There’s a lot more football to be played in the league isn't there?
Yes, there is. We need to recover properly now and get ready for Sunday. It’s nice to have a week without a game but we have to recover then another busy schedule will start.
