Colak was speaking to the media after scoring his first Rangers goal against Kilmarnock.
You must be delighted to score your first competitive Rangers goal?
Of course, I’m really happy and it was an amazing feeling to score at Ibrox. It’s not always easy but of course, it’s the most important thing for a striker to start as early as possible in a season to score, this gives me a lot of confidence and an extra push for the upcoming games.
Tell us about the moment you scored?
It’s giving me goosebumps scoring at Ibrox in front of our fans, I just want to have this feeling as often as possible because it gives me a lot of energy and confidence. I just try to take advantage of every situation, every chance. I want to be as successful as possible.
Was it nice to share the moment with Borna Barisic?
He has given me a lot of help with the daily business we have [at Rangers]. He helped me from day one in Portugal to adapt as fast as possible. It’s really important to have a person like this because I know him already from the national team. Not only him, all the other guys really helped me. It was not difficult to adapt and I now feel I’ve settled in well. Of course, I need more training and games to optimise everything.
Will this goal be the first of many?
Of course, I am a striker and I have always scored. It’s not like you forget after one game. Of course, we didn’t have a good game on Tuesday but we know what we can do this Tuesday in front of our fans. We can turn this game around. It’s all on us, we have this confidence and just have to be more than 100 percent ready.
Does Alfredo Morelos’ goal add pressure?
I’m really happy for him to come back and score after his injury, it’s so important for us as a team. To be successful and have strikers who score. We know how important this can be for the future, we have a long season with a lot of games and need everybody. The most important thing is to have a successful team and I’m happy for him to score, I think he is also happy for me to score and we want to score as many as we can to fight for this position and keep the level as high as possible because it’s all about the team.
Can you score the goals that will keep Rangers in the Champions League?
I hope so, I will give my best. It’s not about me but everyone. We will try to give everything on Tuesday. I have big optimism, it’s about giving everything, scoring goals and turning around the result.
Do you feel you’re adapting to the style at Ibrox?
Of course, I am learning game by game. Away at Livingston was not an easy game. Sometimes as a striker, you don’t have many touches but when the ball comes, you have to score. Unfortunately in that game, it was an offside goal. I am feeling better game by game, I am learning to see the movements and passes of every player. Day by day you are learning and I hope in the upcoming future it will get better and better. I always try my best to score and give everything for the team.
