ALLY MCCOIST was this morning left stunned as he let out an incredulous reaction to the news Celtic are the bookies' favourites to beat Shakhtar Donetsk.
The Rangers legend was bemused as he was informed Celtic are priced at 11/10 to beat the Ukranian side in the Champions League.
The match will be played in Warsaw, Poland due to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine after the Russian invasion of the country.
And while McCoist reckons that could level the playing-field when it comes to predicting the match, he was shocked to hear Celtic were priced so short for a win.
During a talkSPORT segment on the odds ahead of tonight's Champions League fixtures, McCoist was given the price on a either Celtic or Shakhtar win.
And upon hearing Celtic's position as favourites and Shakhtar priced at 2/1, McCoist couldn't help but question the prices.
McCoist was informed: "At the risk of Alan Brazil and all the Celtic fans, I'm surprised Celtic are quite as short priced favourites as they are to win.
"Neutral venue isn't it, I think in Poland tonight. But 11/10 Celtic, 2/1 Shakhtar and Shakhtar got off to a great start in this."
And McCoist let out an exclamation to show his shock as he yelped: "What? What?!"
The talkSPORT guest betting contributor responded: "I'll let you say it because I don't want to upset the green and white half of Glasgow."
And McCoist then said:: "No, no leave that to me mate. I just think that is incredible, I really do.
"They (Shakhtar) had a brilliant result, the one in Leipzig.
"I guess, mitigating factors, the game is it Poland the game is? (That) Would level the odds ever-so-slightly.
"And Celtic first-half against Real Madrid were very, very good but I would have to suggest that 2/1 is rather generous."
