RANGERS boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst spoke to BT Sport following his side’s 3-0 defeat to Napoli at Ibrox.

Here is everything he had to say.

Giovanni, if I can start with your thoughts on the performance and the result?

I think the performance was really good, the result wasn’t good. I don’t think we deserved a 3-0 loss today. If you see how the game went on, how my players reacted after last week, I think we were well in the game from the first minute with some big chances. But, in the end, I don’t think 3-0 reflects the game we had. Of course, you know when you play with 10 men that it’s going to be really difficult, especially when you’re 1-0 down. We had to score so we had to take some risks but we’re very disappointed because at 11 versus 11 I think we gave Napoli a tough game and we were well in the game.

Were you frustrated with some of the decisions tonight?

I said before the decision to give the penalty, we have VAR now so everything is checked. Of course, I don’t want the decision to be taken because it means we’ve got three penalties against us but, in the end, VAR makes the decision and we have to accept that.

What did you make of the sending off, it was clearly a turning point in the game?

I haven’t seen it back clearly. Now they check everything and we have to rely on VAR. It was a moment in the game we didn’t react well with the transition moment and we had to step in to make sure we didn’t give a chance away but in the end it cost us a penalty and a red card.
