RANGERS boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst spoke to BBC Scotland following the 1-0 win over Hearts at Ibrox.
Here is everything he had to say.
What pleased you most about the performance?
I think our energy and our work rate today, we did really well. In the first half, we tried to get an early goal, I think we started really well. There were some transition moments where we had so much space and didn't create those chances into goals. Second half I think we did much better and also with our positions in the box when we were in their final third. I think the goal was an example of how you need to play against opposition when they defend that deep. First half and the beginning of the second half you always have the threat of the two strikers when we were attacking and in one or two moments they were quite dangerous so we had to be really focused the whole game. In the end, we tried to score the second goal but overall I think in the last 20 minutes of the game we didn't give any chances away.
Did you say anything in particular to the players at half time because there did seem to be a new energy about the players? Malik Tillman and Ryan Kent and the introduction of Scott Wright and Scott Arfield.
I think every player who came in gave the extra energy to go and push even more. I think especially in the first half in the first 25 minutes we needed energy, we needed runs and I think we did it much better in the second half with the spaces we got and the energy we put into that and then you create chances like we did the second half.
How does it feel for you personally to get that three points given the pressure you're under?
I'm happy. Firstly, I'm happy for the team and for the club that we got the three points. After that comes the manager because, for me, the club is always the most important thing so I'm happy that we won the three points for this club.
This is the last home match before the World Cup break, you end with St Mirren on Saturday. How important is it to finish with a strong performance and a victory?
It's important to finish with a win to get the three points then we have a five-week break before we play our first competitive game so we can rest a bit, we can recover and prepare well for the second phase. A five-week break is always good to have so hopefully we get some players back from injury and start fresh again against Hibs in our first game.
Do you feel you can build on this and would your message to the fans tonight that the title race is still on?
Of course, it's still on. We have to show that every game and give everything we have to win the games we play. That's the same for Saturday, we forget about this game and prepare well for St Mirren and try to get the three points.
