Rangers defender Borna Barisic has been speaking ahead of Sunday’s Premiership clash with Dundee United.

Here is everything he had to say.

Have you felt a change with Michael Beale from the previous manager?

Yes, I’ve been back for about 10 days but I know Mick from before for a long time so I know already what to expect from him. Everything he does, I’ve already done with him before so in terms of the system and what he wants it’s not hard to adapt for me. I have a very good relationship with him so it wasn’t hard to adapt.

Do you feel it’s a system that suits you better?

Yes, it suits me better.

Are you hoping to flourish in the second half of the season and do you think the performances will be much improved?

Yeah, everyone hopes that but I think already you can see progress. We are playing better and the system is different. As full-backs, we have more freedom to go up and it’s very good for me and also for Tav.

Have you seen steady progress so far in training and in games?

Yes, as I said I can see that and feel that at training but, also, no one is a magician here. We need some time to change so we are going step by step starting with the training. We are much better in training now but I think we have a lot of things to improve still. We are trying to do that and we will do.

How’s the mood going into Sunday following the draw with Celtic?

We wanted three points so it was disappointing, especially because we conceded a late goal. But I can say we have forgotten that game already and we are now looking forward to Dundee United away.

What’s Adam Devine like in training?

He’s a very good guy. He always wants to learn and he’s very focused on training. He’s a very good player, I think he showed that in the previous few games that he played that he can deliver and I hope he will be a big player. It’s nice to see young players coming through.

Where does the 2-2 draw leave Rangers’ title chances?

The chances are still where they have been before that game. Nine points is the same so we still have chances.

Do you need two wins in the next two games against Celtic?

If they don’t lose five.

Is that realistic?

I don’t know if it’s realistic but it’s possible. If you believe it’s possible. I’m not saying it will be easy and it may not be realistic but why can’t it happen? Everything’s possible.

Do the players feel the Celtic game was a missed opportunity?

Of course, it’s a missed opportunity but it’s not the end of the season. It’s not our last opportunity, we have a lot of games to play and they have also. They can lose two games and we win so everything’s possible but this was a big chance and we missed that.

The manager said he’s been looking into players’ eyes, what does the manager see behind your eyes?

I don’t know, you should ask him.

Do you feel like a hungrier player after returning from the World Cup?

I’ve always been hungry but it’s different because it’s a different system that suits me more. I have more freedom to go up, to cross and it’s better for me. I’m always hungry, you need to be.

How do you assess Dundee United?

It will be difficult. We know that it’s a hard pitch and they have had ups and downs but they have a good team and they will give us a good battle for sure but we are going there to win.

Do you think criticism of Alfredo Morelos is unfair and do you think he can still be an important player for the team?

This question is more for him but criticism is normal in football. I always said people criticise Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, why wouldn’t they criticise Alfredo or me? If you play well everyone will say you played well and if you played badly everyone will say that you’ve played bad. You need to look at yourself and try to improve every day and every game but you always need to know that you will always have some bad things, it’s just normal.
