Here's everything Michael Beale said to the BBC after the game.

A very impressive performance tonight. What pleases you most?

The defensive pressing and the organization to regain the ball that set us up well in the game. I thought Hibs would come and try and take the game to us. They did that. We were really poor for one moment tonight, which was the set play, but after that I thought the response was fantastic and we scored four. We probably could have scored double that to be fair on the night with a mix of good defending from them and also some bad finishing from us, but some of our play was really good. It was the best we've been defensively since we were last in Edinburgh at Hearts.

You spoke before the game about the consistency that the team’s had, but the team now seem to have a belief even going a goal down early on that they can come back into this?

Yeah, that's why one or two moments have puzzled me in other games, we haven't shown the same belief. But look, it's a work in progress. But you know, you can see the two new signings looking excellent and they're getting up to match speed. The three games in this week will help them. Certainly, it's important that I get them there safely as well, but the squad's looking quite strong. You know, we made five subs in one go there and they're good players coming on and yesterday, John Souttar and Ridvan played in the B team to get some minutes as well. So, we're in a good place squad-wise and then the competition goes up and that competition within the squad makes the team stronger for sure. The results that we're getting are not easy to get. We're coming away from home in the league and we're scoring a lot of goals and we're and we're looking a strong team at the moment.

Sakala was fantastic. Can he keep up that form?

Again, he's still a young man and obviously, he's getting used to Scottish football. Even still now, I know he's been here a little while, but he's still getting used to the hustle and bustle bit and the demands. And he was a striker when we signed him and he's been shifted out wide at different times. The system suits him at the moment and certainly away from home when teams come after us, it opens up space and in every game he has a chance to score or get an assist. He doesn't always get them, but he's working away and and on nights like tonight I think at times he was unplayable with his pace and direct play.

You’re a team that causes problems for others!

I thought that Antonio was really good tonight as well. I'm seeing a fit Antonio now. I thought he was brilliant at the weekend. He didn't score, but he made up for it for a couple of goals tonight, and now the competition's there, you know. Alfredo's not happy to be out of the team, but it's it's fair and right that when you know someone plays and they play well, they keep the shirt. And now I have an issue that I have a few players waiting on the sidelines and that's what good squads have.

You didn't make any changes tonight from the weekend. Could you go with the same team for the third game in a row?

Yeah, I could because it's a quarter-final. So the confidence is a really important in his game. We will have a look at it and assess in the next couple of days,. We will make sure we don’t have any bumps and bruises and tired legs, but why wouldn't we? The gauntlet’s been set down now if the boys keep performing as they did first half, then it's only fair and right that they continue in the team and that will see the training level go up. But if we focus on tonight, that was really good. They performed well. Hibs were up for this game. They were looking forward to the game, but I think we showed today that we're a good football team.
