John Lundstram's thoughts after the game.

What were your thoughts on today?

Some really good parts and some we need to sharpen up on. Overall to score five in a game is not easy. To concede two sloppy ones is a but frustrating but positives were some top, top bits of play. I think one of the goals was a 60-pass move which could be goal of the season. Happy with the result.

The midfield seems to be progressing?

Yeah, I hope they just get stronger and stronger into next season to build on the performances. They’re doing well and long may that continue, they’re young lads of course. Sometimes it might be up and down but they’re really top talents [Tillman and Cantwell] and we’re lucky to have them.

Is the manager’s frustration indicative of the standards he expects?

Yeah, it’s the standards of the club. It’s so frustrating to concede a couple of sloppy goals. The first one we didn’t quite get up to stop the cross. He’s finished it well but initially getting up to the cross it comes from us losing the ball at the other end which we need to capitalise. I said to the lads at half-time the final pass just needs to be better. The second one was a set-play. It’s their game and they have massive height.

Do you feel you need a big result in an Old Firm as a statement?

We all want to win an Old Firm of course we do. To get a win against them would be great but we are building, it is progressing, I thought we were a lot better last week. We’re definitely building and hopefully if we can get that statement performance it can give us confidence to go on.

Have you had any thoughts on your contract?

Of course, I’d love to stay at the club as long as they want me. Nothing at the minute. I love the club, I’ve never shied away from that. If they want me to stay I’d love to but no updates on that front.
