Here's everything the Rangers manager had to say to the BBC after his side's 2-0 win over St Johnstone.
What was your take on it?
Hard fought not to make more goals but we didn’t give away anything so in the end it was a clear dominant game where we had the ball all the time, also when it was 11vs11. It’s not easy to break a defence of so many players in such a small space and we did it several times more but there was also a good goalkeeper on the other end. Important after the two games last week that we kept the same focus that we played a mature game to get the three points.
How is John Lundstram? I know he had to go off injured…
VAR is also there to help the referee in a good way, I know because I referee every day and it’s sometimes difficult to see everything if you have a bad angle. The bad thing is again a player is kicked off the pitch. We need to make a good assessment tomorrow and the day after now it is. At the first sight it doesn’t look good. I hope I can recover him before the winter break but I’m not sure yet.
The injury that forced him off was the tackle?
It was from the red card clearly.
Kemar Roofe had to go off too?
He is very disappointed because he was coming back in a good way and training well. I spoke with him in the last days and he felt ready to start so it’s disappointing he felt something again but we’ll look at that in-depth tomorrow.
Another mile in the marathon tonight?
For sure. Three points, clean sheet and well deserved victory. After a historical week where a lot of teams had things like that they can become lazy if the concentration goes down. Totally not the case today, those are positives and we need to build on that to stay like we are just now. One collective and play our football. We made five or six changes but the football didn’t change and that’s important also.
Disappointment there will be no Rangers fans at Celtic Park?
Wherever we play it’s always a disappointment if there are no fans because I don’t think it happens in Europe. My job is to train and coach the players of Rangers I am not concerned with political things. I am focused on football.
Rangers vs Motherwell on Christmas Eve…?
Yes another game, that’s most important. We’re going to be only focused on that.
