Rangers legend Walter Smith joined a star-studded line-up for a charity golf day at Loch Lomond today.

Former England and Newcastle striker Alan Shearer posted an image on his Instagram from the event and Smith can be seen alongside Sir Alex Ferguson.

Smith underwent surgery in March and this was his first public appearance since.

Shearer wrote on his post: “What a day to play in Emmie Smillie golf day at the fabulous Loch Lomond with an amazing group.

"Well done to everyone in raising so much money for a great charity.”

Neil Lennon, Alex McLesih, Ian Wright, Matt Le Tissier and Les Ferdinand were also in attendance.
