Jon McLaughlin: Made two or three routine saves in the opening 45 and was a calm presence with the ball at his feet. Had an influential second period. Gave away and saved a penalty superbly on the hour mark, originally giving away the spot-kick for scything down McMullan. Dealt well with the other threats posed by the hosts. 7
James Tavernier: Played the ball into Morelos who assisted Aribo’s opener. Gave the ball away cheaply for a Griffiths chance at the back post that the hosts should have done better with. The only real ‘moment’ offensively won a free kick in a dangerous area. 6
Connor Goldson: Almost cost a clear chance when he headered into the path of Griffiths, went close from a corner near the break. Struggled a little without Davis to play through and lacking a threat to latch onto his diagonals. Was sold by McMullan’s pace for the penalty. 5
Leon Balogun: Dealt generally well with long balls, but the defence had a shaly opening half-hour which included more than one dubious decision to play when a long ball was needed. 6
Calvin Bassey: Retained the left-back spot, wasn’t sporadic with his final ball early on. Provided energy and linked up well with those in front of him. Looking increasingly comfortable in this side. 6
John Lundstram: Following a comfortable evening against Livingston, Lundstram started as the 6 at Dens in place of Steven Davis.
Played forward well for the goal and covered the grass to support his team in defensive transitions. Went close to adding a second with a whipped left-footed shot following a corner and had two strong runs down the left. Very solid and composed throughout the whole game. 7
Glen Kamara: Returning to Dens Park for the first time since he signed for Rangers in 2019. Started aggressively, looking forwards and doing so quickly. Almost sold a chance after the restart, but the final ball was overhit. A quiet afternoon otherwise. 6
Joe Aribo: His final touch has been criticised recently, but the Nigerian did superbly well to make a run beyond the final man and finish calmly. That gave him confidence, a superb shimmy and turn followed. Faded slightly but looked lively again towards the end of the game. 7
Ianis Hagi: Made an immediate impact in midweek. Deployed on the right of the front three, created an early chance by faking a cross on his right to set up a right-footed effort, bookended by another nice touch to set up an attack on 10 mins. So unpredictable due to his two-footedness and sped up the attack with clever touches and movement. 7
Alfredo Morelos: Provided an early out-ball using his physicality to get his team up the pitch. Looked much sharper receiving into feet and creating room for his teammates, which he did superbly to assist the opener. Didn't impact the game as much as he would have hoped. 6
Kemar Roofe: Almost put his team ahead after 10 minutes with a turn and shot that flew wide, protected the ball well and tested the keeper on the half hour with a juggle and shot. Combined well with Hagi too. 6
Substitutes
Fashion Sakala: Introduced for Morelos as Rangers went to split strikers, should have released Roofe on the halfway line during a transition but had his head down. Burst beyond his man on a couple of other occasions. 4
Scott Wright: Came onto play the number 10 for the final 15 minutes. Used the ball well on the occasions he was brought into play. 5
Juninho Bacuna: Came into the midfield for the closing stages, was sharp when called upon, looking very good in one-on-ones. 5
