FORMER Rangers star Giovanni van Bronckhorst is interested in speaking to the champions about succeeding Steven Gerrard as Ibrox boss.
Gerrard brought a premature end to his time in Glasgow on Thursday morning as he put pen-to-paper on a deal with Aston Villa.
Rangers are now aiming to make a quickfire appointment to avoid as much disruption as possible heading into a crucial run of fixtures at home and abroad.
Herald and Times Sports understands van Bronckhorst - who won five major honours with the Light Blues - is keen on a return to Ibrox as Rangers weigh up their options and look to replace Gerrard in the coming days.
The Dutchman would be willing to speak to sporting director Ross Wilson about a deal with the champions as he looks to return to management following a spell in China.
van Bronckhorst previously enjoyed success in his homeland with Feyenoord and is now very much in the running to replace Gerrard at Ibrox.
