Nathan Patterson admits the Rangers players have been re-energised by the arrival of Giovanni van Bronckhorst as manager.
The Dutchman has only had two training sessions since starting work on Monday but his team looked transformed in the 2-0 victory over Sparta Prague from the placid outfit that had been stuttering under Steven Gerrard.
And right-back Patterson, who came on as a substitute in an unfamiliar right-wing position in the second half, was delighted to seal the victory that sends them through to the next stage of the Europa League for the third season on the spin.

He said: “We are all buzzing. We knew we had to come here, get the win and a two-goal lead and we did that. Job done.
“It’s been brilliant under the new manager. All the lads have had a new burst of energy working under him and it’s showing on the pitch. Everyone was working together.
“I’ve been working hard in training to catch the gaffer’s eye and it’s paid off, I’ve got the nod and got on the pitch no matter where I have got on, it was right-wing and I enjoyed it.

“The manager said ‘go on and make sure the lads keep the two-goal lead and keep a clean sheet.’
“I did that and I’m buzzing.”
