Allan McGregor: Made a good stop soon after his side went ahead and another in the lead up to Livingston’s deficit halfer. And again before half time when some questionable defending required more bailing-out from the 39-year-old. 7

James Tavernier: The captain again seemed to benefit from a greater array of passing options when he received the ball, something his opener epitomised. He timed his overlaps well and was always back quickly to support his defence. Didn’t command his back post defensively all that well. 7

Connor Goldson: Moved the ball quickly from side to side, a couple of times more or less putting Tavernier through on the right-hand side. Could have dealt with the long ball that led to Anderson’s goal sightly better. Gave the ball away on three occasions. 7

Calvin Bassey: Will think he could have done better for the Livi goal like Goldson. Looked accomplished once more at the heart of defence that aside. Defending long balls well and winning individual battles – even when Barisic was pulled higher up the park. His pace to cover ground when Livi went long was valuable. 7

Borna Barisic: A so-so first half in which his distribution was occasionally on the money and at other times delayed, not to the same tempo as his teammates. Also allowed a couple of inswinging crosses to trouble his team. A loose backpass also had to be redeemed by McGregor. 7

Glen Kamara: The best player technically on the park. As the No.6 he dictated play, moved the ball wide with speed and did a huge amount of defensive yards. With his two other midfielders more offensive-minded he kept dropping into the backline to create a numerical overload. Occasionally lost the ball but always redeemed the situation. 8

Scott Arfield: A top-class finish to open the scoring – lobbing over the top of Stryjek. His runs beyond the midfield caused problems and always looked to move the ball quickly into Tavernier. Combative in his defensive roles. Could have had another easily in the second. 8

Joe Aribo: Like Arfield, runs beyond the forward lines were impactful. A sublime strike to make the game 2-0 capping a bright opening. Constantly checking Morelos’ movement to work off of it and offering a passing option centrally. Tested Stryjek again on the hour with a swivel and shot. 8

Ianis Hagi: Some of his switches were short and he had a customary couple of overhit passes, generally though he used the ball well. Knowing when to speed up play. Caused a couple of turnovers which were more evident with the team’s less compact style. 7

Ryan Kent: Started to get crowded out after an explosive start. Sat so much wider in possession which allowed him momentum to run at Livingston’s defence. Needed to occasionally spread play as his teammates from the right did so well. For Aribo’s goal he did this well, attracting two markers before threading the ball to Morelos. 7

Alfredo Morelos: As in midweek, played on the shoulder more to offer an outball and act as a focal point. Was a little loose in possession when he dropped down a line but far more difficult to move off the ball than he had been in recent weeks. Excellent assist for Aribo’s goal. 7

Substitutes

Fashion Sakala: Replaced Ryan Kent to play from the left of midfield. Nearly connected with a cross from Morelos at the front post soon on from his entry and would nick an impressive goal too. Leaping above Stryjek to secure the points. 7

Nathan Patterson: Introduced once more to play infront of Tavernier again. A few moments high up the pitch that came close to providing a fourth. 5

Jermain Defoe: Replaced Morelos for the final minutes. 4
