Giovanni van Bronckhorst has detailed the role of Rangers' striker coach Roy Makaay in rejuvenating Alfredo Morelos.
The Colombian has been back to his best under the Dutch duo and looks once again like the force that terrorised defences two seasons ago as the Europa League’s top scorer.
He has scored six times in eight appearances since Steven Gerrard departed for Aston Villa.
And van Bronckhorst has revealed Makaay’s fluent Spanish and video analysis helped them get Morelos back to his best.
He told De Telegraaf: “I enjoyed working with Roy at Feyenoord and would have liked to take him to China when I moved there. That didn’t work at the time but now he’s back on board.
“It is an advantage for Morelos that Roy speaks Spanish like me. Every player has his own story and we worked with him in our own way.

“I watched videos of him playing before we came to the club. He was dropping too deep and coming out of the striker’s role a bit too often. We just want him to operate in the box.
“Morelos feels happy and he has scored a lot. So it’s looking good. I just want us as a Rangers team to become one machine. No exceptions are made for players.”
