Below is a full transcript of Borna Barisic's press conference ahead of the trip to Pittodrie.
What is your current situation at the club?
The situation is I am focused on Rangers like I always said in regard to transfers. I am focused on Rangers, that’s what is most important. I’ve heard a lot of ‘wrong information’ – not all, but a lot of wrong information. So, all the answers to my situation you will have at the start of February.
Do you expect to be a Rangers player at the start of February?
You never know in football, you know how it goes. If someone says ’30 million for Borna’ I will not be here! All that matters is I’m a professional, fully focused on Rangers and on our next game against Aberdeen. All the answers you will have in February.
You’ve had a long break, has the manager used it to introduce more tactical change?
The last 10 days have given us a chance to work on some tactical things, but I can not say that we did something you haven’t already seen this season. Just small changes. Of course, we have used these last two weeks very well to prepare ourselves for the next half of the season.
The manager seems to have changed your role, are you enjoying the new demands?
Yes, you can see that the full-backs don’t have the same things to do as under Steven Gerrard. But it’s another manager and how he wants to play, what positions he wants us to pick up on the pitch. I’m happy with it. It’s just part of the tactic, every game is another tactic it’s not always the same. For me sometimes I can go up and down, sometimes not. It also depends on who we play. Whatever I need to do I will do to win the game.
How important is it to start games away from home aggressively?
Since our new manager came there has been a lot of new things. You can see that in our style of play and in our tactics also. There is a lot of differences, you can see that. Since he came here, as our results show, we’ve done really well. Everyone is 100% in training and understands what they need to do at every moment. I can say everything is very nice.

Do you feel a responsibility to help guide Calvin Bassey through games?
I do, I feel that responsibility. He’s younger and in a position that he can play [centre-back] but obviously, he played at left-back [normally]. So I use my experience to show him some things where he can improve. But I want to say that he has played very well and I’m very pleased. He’s a young guy who always wants to learn every day. It’s very nice to play with him and our clean sheets show how the whole team has played.”
The defensive improvement has been incredible – has that been down to the stability of selection?
Yes, one of the things was probably injuries [in the opening months of the season] when you’re up and down with the players it’s hard to stabilise the back four and team. But I think we’ve done that now, established ourselves, our team and defence. Of course, it helps a lot to keep clean sheets.
You said some things reported were accurate – has there been genuine interest in you during this window?
Yes, there has been but I said I don’t want to go into details, there has just been a lot of rumours. That’s a normal thing in one way, but I want to say to people there is always some wrong information. As I said to you, all the answers about transfers about me you will have at the beginning of February.
How did you react to the interest in you?
I said before that I don’t want to go into details. The most important thing is Rangers, I am 29-years-old, very experienced and I know [the demands of] this badge. You need always to be 100%, at training and on the pitch. I am really focused on Rangers, that’s the only thing that matters now. All the answers will be here at the start of February.
