ALEX LOWRY has not turned down a new Rangers contract, despite reports suggesting otherwise.
The playmaker made his third appearance for Giovanni van Bronckhorst's side during the Scottish Cup win over Annan on Saturday.
Lowry stole the show during the fourth round success at home to Stirling Albion last month and was then given a start for the Premiership win over Livingston.
A report this morning suggested that the 18-year-old had turned down a new contract, but it is understood that this is wide of the mark.
Rangers Review writer Derek Clark tweeted saying that the Ibrox club branded the report as "nonsense".
After the weekend's Scottish Cup victory over Annan, Lowry said: "Delighted to get more minutes and thankful to the boss and staff again to be given the opportunity. Just delighted.
"We are training with top class players day in day out so it is only going to stand us in good stead if we want to continue playing for this club. There are always expectations on you so it is good."
