What is your reaction to that result?
I think it’s a very good result for us against a quality team, a big team in Europe. We wanted to take a result back to Glasgow to get a good game next week. I think we achieved that with two goals of a difference that we take back.
I’m really proud of the performance the players have shown today but we also know we’re only halfway and still one game to be played but to come here and score four away goals in Europe, I think it’s a very good achievement so I’m more than happy with the result and especially also the performance.
Is that the most pleased you’ve been since you came to the club and does it show the potential of the side?
We had many games where I was really happy with the performance. The home game against Sparta Prague was also a good performance but you want to be successful with your club, you want your players to enjoy the games, to play well and get good results.
Obviously, I’m more than happy for my players but also happy because we presented really well as a club. Played against a quality side and got a good result and we’re going to await a good game next week at a full Ibrox so very happy with the achievement.
You played in a win over Leverkusen and Parma as a Rangers player, how does tonight compare?
We talked on the way to the media room, it’s very difficult to get an away win in Europe, it’s not easy so, as a manager, it’s the first time I’ve won away in Europe and that shows how difficult it is.
It’s a great night but it’s only a great night, we’re not through to the next round which we want so we know we need to get a good performance next week as well but to bring this win back with us to Glasgow, we worked hard for it and deserved to win this game.

Did you ever imagine you could cause them as many problems as you did?
We worked hard to get the right gameplan. We saw a lot of games of Dortmund, we knew that they were getting a lot of goals against them lately and we prepared the game well. We had a lot of meetings on the way Dortmund can play and we were prepared tactically but also more importantly, mentally and we had the right attitude today to get a good result.
Where did that belief come from?
The belief starts with everyone. Of course, me as the manager, it’s an important role but, in a way, we are all leaders so the belief is there from myself, from my staff but also from the players. We all acted as one, we represent this beautiful club and we have to make sure we will make our fans proud of the performances we put in and I think, definitely today, we’ve done that. For us now it’s to enjoy the moment but prepare as well for Sunday for a difficult away game.
What did you make of John Lundstram and Ryan Jack’s performances tonight?
I’m really happy to have Ryan back in the team. He was struggling with injuries as we all know but together with John you can see the impact they have for the team, offensively but also defensively. I think those two had a really great performance, I think your midfield is probably the most important part of your squad because it will help defence and will also help the offence. I think, today, our midfield was excellent and John and Ryan really put in a good performance as well.
