RANGERS manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst has provided a fitness update on Aaron Ramsey.

The Welshman, 31, has missed the last two matches for the Ibrox side through injury.

The ex-Arsenal star joined on loan from Juventus on Deadline Day, but has hardly featured since.

However, van Bronckhorst has revealed that the midfielder was back training today and will be monitored.

The boss told the media: "He didn't have a set-back. He wasn't meant to be in the squad yesterday, for me it's going as planned. Today he is on the pitch. We have to see his progress day by day."

The Dutchman of course also reflected on the club's famous two-legged victory over Borussia Dortmund in the Europa League.

This morning they drew Red Star Belgrade in the last-16 of the competition.

But on last night's game, van Bronckhorst commented: "It ranks up high for me, the atmosphere yesterday was great. Over the two games we did excellently, we had very good moments in both games. It is a historic win.

"You always have to show your ambition, we have shown this in our games against Dortmund. As a player I know how special European nights can be at Rangers and these are memories you carry with you your whole life, I still remember Parma.

"He (Alfredo) had a good performance, in the second-half he was dominant and we can move around him with runs from Ryan (Kent) and midfield. I'm really happy with his performances along with all the other players.

"We will have confidence in the next round. We will look closely at Red Star, they finished top of their group so we know they will be a tough team."

Rangers face Motherwell in league action on Sunday.
