ALLY MCCOIST has offered his congratulations to Neil Lennon after he was appointed head coach of Cypriot side Omonia Nicosia.
The club announced the former Northern Ireland international had been handed a contract until the summer of 2024.
The 50-year-old replaces former Rangers defender Henning Berg at Omonia, who were in the Europa Conference League group stage this season but recently missed out on the Cypriot top six when the league split in two.
Lennon has been out of football since stepping down from his second spell as Celtic manager 12 months ago.
And Coisty was quick to send his well wishes in his typical comical fashion.
He said on talkSPORT: "That gives us a problem, and I'll tell you why.
"We need to find another body for the six-a-sides on a Friday.
"He's went there and shown our six-a-sides squad total contempt. He hasn't discussed his move to Cyprus with any of the boys, and he's left us with 11 men.
"Neil, I clearly wish you all the best in Cyprus but I want to know who your replacement is for the six-a-sides.
"In all seriousness, magic. I'm really pleased for him.
"I spoke to him a good few times. I was of the opinion, and I did say to him, 'get yourself out the road.'
"'Get yourself away somewhere in Europe or America and go and enjoy yourself for a couple of years.'
"I'm pleased that he's back in the game and I hope he gets the opportunity to do that."
