ALLY MCCOIST has urged Rangers to recall star striker Alfredo Morelos to assess him ahead of their showdown with Celtic on April 3.
Media in Colombia say that the striker will play no part in the country's World Cup qualifier against Bolivia due to a muscle injury concern.
Journalist Pipe Sierra claims that the Gers star will miss the match - and that is almost certainly going to be a worry for Giovanni van Bronckhorst.
Reacting to the news, Ibrox hero McCoist told Football Scotland: “I noticed he wasn’t in the squad. His recent form has been excellent for Rangers, particularly in Europe.
"But generally speaking, he hasn’t been playing in the national team and I thought initially that was the reason he hadn’t been picked.
“Then I read it was an injury concern. Call me old fashioned but if that’s the case, I’d have him on the first flight back to have a look at him and assess him.
“But I don’t know how it works these days with international players - they can sometimes go AWOL you know!”
