FORMER Rangers star Kevin Thomson reckons this Sunday's Old Firm derby is sitting in the balance.

The Kelty Hearts boss cannot separate the teams in what is one of the biggest Glasgow derby matches in recent years.

Celtic lead Rangers by just three points at the top of the Premiership.

So Sunday's game at Ibrox could prove to be pivotal in the destination of the title come May.

Thomson looked ahead to the game on Sky Sports News.

He said: “There is always pressure in Old Firm games. They are obviously must-wins for either side of the city.

“With Celtic having the bragging rights and sitting top of the league it is a massive game for Rangers.

“I think it is one that is genuinely sitting on the fence it is that tight. They are two really good teams.

“If Rangers can bring their European form then they certainly have a chance to beat Celtic.

“Celtic will know that if they go to Ibrox and win then it really could be curtains for Rangers.”
