ALLY MCCOIST branded the call to chop off Kemar Roofe's first-half strike for Rangers as "one of the worst decisions" this season.
The Ibrox hero was left baffled when official François Letexier checked the decision on the VAR monitor before disallowing the goal.
Roofe had headed home after just five minutes following an excellent delivery from Borna Barisic - but the Croatian full-back was ruled to have handled the ball in the build-up.
Replays appeared to show the ball strike Barisic on the hand after being flicked up by a Braga defender.
However, IFAB rules state accidental handbells before a goal is scored should not be classed as offences - so Barisic could only have been punished if the handball was deliberate.
Updated IFAB handball rules explain: "Accidental handball by a team-mate before a goal is scored and accidental handball creating a goal-scoring opportunity have been removed as offences."
Rangers hero McCoist was furious with the decision and insisted it's one of the worst he's witnessed this season.
He said: "Listen, bottom line, that's one of the worst decisions I've seen this season. The referee gives the goal.
"An obvious error has to be made for him to change that decision. So, therefore, the referee thinks that that is a deliberate handball.
"Now if that's a deliberate handball, Barisic should be in the circus!"
And McCoist was also confused by Letexier's decision to send off Vitor Tormena when he fouled Roofe in the box.
The defender barged into Roofe, but McCoist reckons he tried to play the ball so should only have been cautioned.
He added: "That is a penalty. I think it's harsh sending the boy off, I genuinely do.
"Roofe cuts across Tormena, there's no doubt. I think he goes with his left foot and attempts to play the ball.
"He's definitely got a right arm on his shoulder. The left foot attempts to play the ball."
