GIOVANNI VAN BRONCKHORST has urged Rangers to bounce back from the hurt of relinquishing their Premiership crown by clinching the Europa League silverware.
Celtic were confirmed as champions on Wednesday night as a 1-1 draw with Dundee United edged them over the finishing line and secured the crown in Ange Postecoglou's first term as boss.
Van Bronckhorst saw Rangers lose their grip on the trophy with a series of costly results as they failed to convert a promising position at the turn of the year into a second successive league flag.
The Ibrox squad now have their sights set on even greater glories, though, as Van Bronckhorst counts down to the Europa League final with Eintracht Frankfurt next week.
Rangers will face Hearts in the final of the Scottish Cup just days after their date with destiny in Seville and it could be a historic end to the season for the Dutchman.
Victory on the continent would see the record books rewritten in Scottish football and Van Bronckhorst is fully aware of the opportunity that lies ahead on the back of an agonising end to their Premiership reign.
Van Bronckhorst said: “Its another competition of course and we are disappointed we didn’t win the championship, but we have to give credit to Celtic and Ange and the work they have done and the run they had in the league.
“That’s tough sport. You want to win prizes and in the end if you fell short you have to make sure you’ll bounce back the next season.
"We are here now to make a very positive last week with a European final and a cup final. For next season we have to push ourselves hard to become champions of Scotland.
“It’s football, you win and you lose. It’s always a case to bounce back when you don’t win a prize.”
