CALVIN BASSEY earned rave reviews for his performance in the Europa League final even as Rangers fell to an agonising defeat.
The Ibrox side took the match all the way to penalties with a 1-1 scoreline after extra-time but fell short from the spot.
However, Bassey was a standout performer as he excelled in the showpiece final in Seville.
And Michael Stewart was hugely impressed by the Nigerian defender who kept the Eintracht Frankfurt attack quiet for much of the night.
The pundit reckons Bassey is a major player at Ibrox and has to be kept even if Rangers are to sell players in the summer.
Commenting on Twitter, Stewart wrote: "Calvin Bassey is absolutely unbelievable.
"Can’t quite believe how good he has been the second half of the season.
"They must do everything to keep a hold of him.
"If players must be sold then they can’t let him be one of them.
"Tremendous player."
