CALVIN BASSEY again excelled on the international stage overnight in Nigeria's narrow loss to Ecuador.
The Rangers defender started - as did Joe Aribo - in the friendly fixture and went on to earn rave reviews for another stellar showing.
Bassey was deployed at full-back for the match and was hailed in his homeland for an "exceptional" performance.
The 22-year-old was earlier this week praised for his showing in the 2-1 loss to Mexico where he provided a top assist for Cyriel Dessers'n strike.
And All Nigeria Soccer claim Bassey should've added to his assist tally if not for some poor finishing by his team-mates
Giving Bassey nine out of ten for his performance, the outlet wrote: "Another exceptional game by the Rangers young star.
"Was massive especially in the second half and should have got a couple of assists if not for the profligacy of the strikers. 9/10"
While Bassey starred, Aribo was handed a much more tempered assessment of his performance.
The Nigerian outlet gave Aribo a six out of ten rating and insisted he "needs to do more".
The performance review read: "Generally quiet. Few flashes of quality and good ball carrying but nothing spectacular.
"Went in and out of the game as he struggled to stamp any sort of authority. Needs to do more." 6/10
