CELTIC’s league dominance has been recognised in the SPFL Premiership Team of the Season.
With five Celtic players and three Rangers players deemed worthy of a spot, there is likely to be much debate around those awarded.
The illustrious Star Man title went to a player of neither of the Old Firm, but instead was claimed by Hearts goalkeeper – and ex-Celtic man – Craig Gordon.
The experienced ‘keeper put in fantastic performances all season, making beautiful and near-impossible saves nearly every week as Hearts worked towards a comfortable third place finish, he has earned his place.
He is joined by one teammate, defender Stephen Kingsley, with the 27-year-old putting in performances that caused fans to beg for a Scotland call-up for him.

The final non-Old Firm player is the league’s joint top scorer Regan Charles-Cook of Ross County.
Charles-Cook scored 13 goals in 37 league appearances before his contract expired and he moved to Belgian side Eupen, much to the dismay of fans in Dingwall.
Rangers contribute James Tavernier, Calvin Bassey, and Joe Aribo to the lineup.
Tavernier captained Rangers this season to a Scottish Cup win and a Europa League final, finishing as top scorer in the EL for right-back.
Young Bassey can play left or centre-back and has made his mark since coming into the team, starting 26 league games and being consistently solid going forward or back.
25-year-old Aribo kicked up much transfer interest as his incredible performances last season made his value skyrocket.
Even with five Celtic players in the team, there is no space for joint top goalscorer Giorgos Giakoumakis.
Fan-favourite newcomers Jota and Kyogo round off the attack, with the club desperately chasing a permanent deal for the Portuguese winger, and the Japanese man managing to bag eight goals after spending nearly five months out injured.
Another loanee makes the cut in Cameron Carter-Vickers, who has displayed consistent strength at the back has also caused Hoops fans to wait with bated breath in hope of a permanent deal.
The team is finished off with long serving and reliable midfielders Callum McGregor and Tom Rogic, the latter of which having played his last game for the club since his contract has expired.
While some may argue some players missed out, it is hard to deny all of those selected had an incredible year.
