RANGERS star Kemar Roofe has unveiled his new hair transplant and revealed how he hopes the procedure will boost his confidence in time for the new football season.
The Jamaica international, 29, is a key part of Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s squad, netting 17 goals in 41 games for the Blues last season.
But he missed the last month of the schedule with a knee injury, although he did come off the bench in extra time in the Europa League final as Gers suffered a devastating penalty shootout defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt.
Now the striker is gunning to be fit and firing for the start of the 2022-23 season when he will also be sporting a new-look hairstyle thanks to undergoing surgery in Istanbul.
Roofe flew to Turkey under the watchful eye of experts at Este Medical Group, who arranged consultations and the FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) operation.
The football icon said: “The reason I chose Este is that every city I’ve lived in – Leeds, Birmingham and Glasgow – there’s always been a clinic there.
“They have always helped me with my hair difficulties, lack of confidence and disappointment regarding my hair.”
Roofe is the latest in a long line of soccer stars who have gone under the knife to address their follicular failings.
These include Celtic pair Anthony Stokes and Leigh Griffiths, James McFadden and Pat Nevin.
The Rangers man added: “The surgery was painless and has been successful so I’m very happy. I’d like to thank everyone at Este medical for helping me with this procedure.”
Hair transplants have grown in popularity over the past decade, with taking action to restore your hairline no longer seen as taboo.
The FUE procedure Roofe had sees individual hair follicles removed from the back of the head and then grafted into place at the front.
