RANGERS kicked-off their pre-season schedule with a victory over Partick Thistle today.
The friendly match between the Glasgow sides was played behind closed doors.
The game finished 3-2, as young Josh McPake took his chance to impress by getting on the scoresheet after coming off the bench.
Giovanni van Bronckhorst's side was certainly not a full strength, with the likes of Joe Aribo, Calvin Bassey, Alfredo Morelos, Kemar Roofe, Allan McGregor and Filip Helander all missing from the side.
This allowed for opportunities for the likes of McPake, as well as Alex Lowry, Glenn Middleton and Fashion Sakala.
The latter was also among the goals, with John Lundstram netting as well.
Rangers will travel to Portugal now for a week of warm weather training before facing Sunderland next Saturday on July 9.
Rangers starting lineup vs Partick Thistle: McLaughlin, Tavernier, King, Goldson, Devine, Lundstram, Lowry, Arfield, Wright, Sakala, Middleton.
