FORMER Rangers caretaker boss Graeme Murty could be joining Newcastle United, according to a report.
The ex-Ibrox coach is said to be in the running for a job in the Premier League side's academy.
The Daily Record say that he will take on a role in the youth setup on Tyneside.
Murty joined Rangers as part of their development coaching staff in August 2016.
He was twice placed in caretaker charge of the first team during his time at Ibrox.
He left Rangers last November after five years with the club.
Murty was believed to be on the cusp of landing the Ayr United job before Lee Bullen was appointed.
Now, he will return to a more familiar academy role, this time with the Magpies.
