AJAX are reportedly set to step up their interest in Rangers star Calvin Bassey.
The Dutch giants have become strong favourites to land the versatile defender.
Premier League clubs are also monitoring the former Leicester City academy player, with Brighton said to be extremely keen.
Lisandro Martinez is Manchester United-bound and he's in the UK to finalise that move, worth around £46million.
Ajax head coach Alfred Schreuder wants a replacement for the Argentine.
And the Scottish Sun say Ajax are ready to test Rangers' resolve for Bassey with a formal transfer bid.
However, their report states that they face stiff competition from up to seven clubs from across Italy, Germany and England for the Nigeria international.
Rangers won't entertain bids below £20million, and are believed to be pushing for £25million - the same figure Kieran Tierney left Celtic for Arsenal.
Martinez's dream move to United is expected to be completed today, so the situation should become clearer in the coming days.
It comes as The Telegraph reports that an agreement between Ajax and Rangers was "likely" to be reached next week.
