GIOVANNI van Bronckhorst extended an Ibrox olive branch to dropped striker Alfredo Morelos after the victory over PSV as the Rangers manager insisted: "he's part of it".

Fan favourite Morelos was axed from the Rangers squd travelling to the Netherlands for the crucial clash after a huge decision by Van Bronckhorst.

The Ibrox boss had concerns over Morelos' fitness and attitude at the club and made the tough choice to remove him from contention.

Antonio Colak has been favoured at striker this season and produced the goods again as he netted the all-important winner to send Rangers into the Champions League group stage.

However, after the match Van Bronckhorst insisted Morelos could be proud of the achievement even if he was back in Glasgow when his team-mates triumphed in Eindhoven.

Quizzed on the Morelos situation after the win on BT Sport, Van Bronckhorst said: "He’s part of the squad.

"It’s on Alfredo to work his way back into the team. He’s still a Rangers player.

"He’s proud of the moment we had today because he’s part of it.

"We have to see in the coming days how it will evolve.

"It’s a proud moment for all of us and Morelos."

And Morelos was quick to praise his team-mates after the win as he issued a 'This is my team' statement on social media.

The striker shared a post on Rangers' qualification on his Instagram story and added the caption: "This is my team!! We are back!! Congratulations boys!!"
