BARRY FERGUSON has claimed it'd be best for Rangers and Alfredo Morelos if they were to "part ways".
The Ibrox favourite has suggested it's time for both parties to call time on their partnership.
Morelos is into the final 12 months of his contract with his current deal due to expire in the summer.
And it means he's free to discuss a pre-contract summer move from January.
However, Giovanni van Bronckhorst has previously stated he's confident Morelos could extend his stay in Glasgow.
For Ferguson, though, it's time for both the club and the player to move on whether that be in January or at the end of the season.
Speaking on Go Radio, he said: "If he's trying to get a move, if there are clubs there watching him play, I just think he looked a way off it.
"I just think the best thing for both Rangers and Morelos is they part ways.
"Whether someone will come in for him in January I don't know. Whether he'll want to stay until the summer and go on a totally free transfer, we just need to wait and see."
And while Ferguson has backed Morelos during his spell at Ibrox, the former Rangers captain claims the striker was "really poor" in the draw with St Mirren.
The Colombian started the match in Paisley with Antonio Colak out with a minor injury - but he failed to impress Ferguson.
The pundit explained: "I've always been a supporter of Morelos and I still think he's a good striker.
"Now, you can go on about 'he's not played enough football', but he still needs to show a bit.
"His touch was away off, he was misplacing passes and I just didn't think there was a work ethic there within him.
"On Saturday, I was expecting a much better performance. During the week against Hearts when he came on, I thought he actually did really well and I'm thinking 'right he's back again'. But watching that on Saturday, he was really poor."
