Ceri Bowley has called Giovanni van Bronckhorst football’s “most respectful and professional man” after he was sacked by Rangers.
The Dutchman was relieved of his duties after a disappointing start to the season with the Ibrox side currently nine points behind Celtic in the league.
Bowley was brought to the club this summer as first-team coach having previously worked with van Bronckhorst at the City Football Group.
He posted a message on his Twitter page today praising the manager who he branded a “victim of his own success”.
“A man of integrity and honour, the most professional and respectful in football. Proud to have been by your side and sorry I couldn’t do more. A victim of your own success, you will be back stronger and even better.”

Meanwhile, Michael Beale is currently the favourite for the vacant Rangers position with bookmakers OLBG, while Kevin Muscat and Sean Dyche are also fancied.
An OLBG spokesperson said: “Former Rangers No.2 Michael Beale, who worked under Steven Gerrard in their 2020/21 Scottish Premiership title-winning season, is the 1/2 odds-on favourite to return to Ibrox as the main man.
"Kevin Muscat is the 9/2 second-favourite to replace Giovanni van Bronckhorst, while Sean Dyche is 6/1, with Gerardo Seoane 8/1.”
