ALEX LOWRY has been putting in the hard yards during the World Cup break by taking part in an elite training camp.
The Rangers youngster has been snapped training in Dubai while domestic action is suspended for the World Cup break.
Lowry, 19, joined up with Premier League ace Liam Cooper to put in work during the break before reporting back to Rangers training.
The creative midfielder looked to be ramping up his fitness with clips showing the teenager being put through his paces by coaches Jamie Woollard and Chris Bowman of Elite Sports Performance.
Lowry shared footage of a gruelling training session with both he and Cooper doubled over recovering after a tough fitness session.
The Ibrox starlet could also be seen working on his finishing as part of another drill.
Lowry has been plagued with an injury struggle this season after a horror tackle during a B Team match against Dumbarton.
But, he had returned to full fitness before the break from the World Cup with Van Bronckhorst confirming Lowry was fit albeit not involved.
Ahead of Rangers' match against Hearts earlier this month, Lowry was not selected as part of the squad despite being available for selection.
Van Bronckhorst - who was dismissed on Monday - had said at the time: "Lowry is fit but not in the squad for tomorrow. Well, I can only pick 20, it's very simple.
"I hope he will be back soon because it's a long time ago last season. He's been out for how many months...so for me, it is just a case of seeing the players I have, the players I will need, that's all I think about.
"All the players who are in the 20 squad at the moment deserve to be in that squad."
Lowry has featured just once this season for the Rangers first-team in a cameo appearance in the final Champions League group stage match against Ajax.
But he'll be desperate to impress the next Rangers manager and stake his place for a return to consistent first-team involvement going forward.
