MARK WARBURTON has urged Michael Beale to think "very clearly" if he is offered the chance to become the next Rangers manager.

The former Ibrox boss warned the QPR manager that chances to join a club like Rangers don't come along often.

But Warburton admitted Beale would have a "difficult decision" on his hands if he were offered the position with the chance to manage Rangers tough to overlook.

"I think Michael is well aware of the size of Rangers football club," said Warburton when discussing the Rangers managerial search on Sky Sports.

"It's a global institution recognised around the world for the history of the club. It's a fantastic opportunity and Michael will know that.

"He'll recognise the club and have very good relationships within the club established when he was working with Steven.

"Should it come along it will be a fantastic opportunity and very hard to turn it down.

"I think that he was offered a job by Wolves and chose to stay at QPR speaks volumes for his thought process and what he is looking to do with his career so made that decision for his career, so I’m sure it’s not a done deal by any means yet.

"The question was about the opportunity, and to manage a club the size of Rangers is always a magnificent opportunity.

"Should it go ahead he'll have a very difficult decision to make, that's for sure.

“I think if it does go ahead I think he will back himself to go and succeed in what is a unique league in terms of the relationship with Celtic the Old Firm and the passion of the fans.

“I think he’ll have to weigh it up. He’s in a good place with QPR. He’s had a good start to the season, they’re just outside the play-offs but this type of opportunity doesn’t come along every week."

Warburton spent two years at the helm at Ibrox and offered Beale advice to clear his mind and carefully consider any offer of employment at Rangers.

The Londoner advised that any job offer worth considering carries significant risk but cited Beale's connections and understanding of the culture at Rangers as he offered his take on the QPR manager's position.

He added: "It is a difficult decision in terms of where he is now, he's done well. But when you have this come along I think you have to put all your cards on the table and think very clearly.

"For me, he's tasted success there, he knows what's involved, he knows what can happen there.

"Yes, any job of that stature carries risks, any good job will always challenge you and there will always be an element of danger.

"But I think he is well aware of that, he's got a good understanding of what will be expected from him and his team and his staff.

"Should the offer be made to QPR then he has a very difficult decision but always a nice decision to have to make."
