Alfredo Morelos can be a star for Rangers once more, insists Michael Beale.

The striker has been the club's talisman during his five-years in Glasgow.

However, this campaign has been far from a fruitful one, with questions marks over his fitness and commitment to the cause.

Most of his appearances have come from the bench under Giovanni van Bronckhorst prior to Beale's arrival this week.

The Colombian is out of contract at the end of the season, and looks likely to be moving on from life at Rangers.

But Beale insists he should be able to get a tune out of the 26-year-old - if he plays the way he trains.

He told the media: "If he plays like how he trained today, yes. It's not just Alfredo, it's Kemar Roofe as well.

"When we were here before those were two players who were firing.

"We will have Ianis Hagi back in the coming months as well, and Tom Lawrence."

The manager was then asked if he felt his squad would require 'radical surgery' in the coming transfer windows. 

The Englishman repeated that his team is far from broken. 

He added: "I am just in the assessing stage at the moment to be honest. We are always looking to improve and are always looking in the transfer market.

"There is a lot of interesting players out there. Joe Aribo and Calvin Bassey came to the club as unknowns, and then going out on the player trading converyor belt.

"We have a strong squad at the moment. Naturally in every window you try and edge it on."
