Douglas Park has been re-appointed as a director at Rangers after a vote at the club AGM.

The Ibrox chairman retired and offered himself for re-election to the board in line with company policies.

And his re-appointment was put to shareholders along with a number of resolutions at the club AGM on Tuesday. 

The current chairman required a majority backing to return to the board as a director.

Resolution two regarding Park's position read: “THAT Douglas Park, who retires and offers himself for re-appointment in accordance with the Company’s Articles of Association, be re-appointed as a Director of the Company.”

And the club have now confirmed that the vote to re-appoint Park to the board has passed.

A club update on AGM resolution votes read: "THE Board of Rangers International Football Club PLC is pleased to confirm that all resolutions presented at today’s Annual General Meeting were approved by shareholder vote.

"This successful outcome will assist the club with its ambitious investment plans, on and off the field of play.

"Full details of the shareholder vote shall follow."

It comes despite opposition from Dave King and Club 1872 who outlined their intentions to vote against Park ahead of the AGM in Glasgow.

Former chairman King insisted he would not back Park's re-appointing to the board as a director due to concerns over the current Ibrox regime.

And Club 1872 members decided against supporting Park's re-appointment bid with 64 percent against supporting resolution two, 6.85 percent abstaining and just 28.83 wishing to back Park's re-appointment.

King previously explained his stance, stating: “The fact is, I was already having concerns about where this regime was headed. These concerns went back.

“I felt some of the things happening were unacceptable, un Rangers-like. The treatment of ex players, the treatment of supporters.

“I felt voting against Graeme would make that point. I had to put my money where my mouth was and use my vote to go along with what my concerns were.

“It was heading in the wrong direction. I didn’t like the way Steven (Gerrard) was forced out of the club.

“It’s not the way to treat people that delivered a title for us. I couldn’t not vote with my conscience.

“The situation is recoverable. I think we can be back winning the title, but the way things are going at the moment, unless changes are made to the leadership of the board, the leadership and executive of the club, I fear we will be stagnating for a long time to come."

A Club 1872 statement added: "All the shares held by Club 1872 Shares CIC and Club 1872 Projects CIC will now be voted in accordance with Contributors’ wishes. Club 1872 will vote against Resolutions 2, 7 and 8 and for all other Resolutions.

"We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our Contributors for their ongoing support."
