Kris Boyd brutally trolled his Sky Sports colleagues this morning over England's World Cup exit as he revealed he was wearing a French shirt on air.

The former Scotland international waited until the end of the World Cup Breakfast broadcast to reveal the France jersey as he poked fun at his English colleagues.

A beaming Boyd took off his jumper to reveal a white France shirt just days after England were knocked out by Didier Deschamps' men in Qatar.

Leading into the savage shirt reveal, Boyd said: "I've done really well this morning, I've not really brought it up...

"But I am too warm now so I am going to have to remove (my jumper)."

Host Thomas White couldn't believe Boyd's stunt as he reacted to the light-hearted World Cup jibe.

He said: "Oh, you're joking. I knew something like that was..is that what you were wearing underneath the whole time?

"When it took you 53 minutes to bring it up I was already surprised!"

Fellow presenter Bela Shah added: "You have really been very quiet, silently waiting for your moment."

A gloating Boyd continued: "It was the last one left in the shop, how is that for you friend?"

White then joked Boyd wouldn't return to Sky Sports after sporting the French jersey on air, he concluded: "We have run out of time, Kris Boyd supposed to be in in the morning, he's not anymore."

Fellow guest Danny Mills then fired back at Boyd, saying: "I'm just surprised that a double XL is a little bit tight.

But Boyd replied: "That's a medium, the last one left in the shop. I was desperate for a blue one as well but this one will do."

England crashed out of the tournament in a 2-1 loss to France on Saturday night. Aurelien Tchouameni opened the scoring before Harry Kane levelled from the spot.

Olivier Giroud headed home the winner in the second half with Kane blazing over a golden opportunity to level again from the spot in the closing stages.
