Andy Halliday insists Michael Beale will not accept the condition of striker Alfredo Morelos for much longer.

The Ibrox striker has been questioned for his conditioning after he returned from a long-term injury.

Morelos' performances have been off the pace this campaign and he has struggled in comparison to his striking teammate Antonio Colak.

Halliday, a former teammate of Morelos, admits the Colombian is a shadow of his former self, and he feels Beale has a decision to make over his future.

Asked if Beale will accept Morelos' shape on Open Goal, he said: "No. But see for the last five games, Morelos is the only striker they've had.

"A lot's been said of Alfredo Morelos in the Old Firms because his goal record's not been great and misses chances, but I think some of his best performances have came in those games.

"But I thought yesterday, so many of Rangers' attacks broke down with him taking a loose touch or a poor pass.

"To be fair I do think there's been an upturn in his performances under Michael Beale, he's been a bit better. But yesterday he wasn't at it."

Meanwhile, Michael Beale called on his Rangers players and their fans to keep the Ibrox atmosphere rocking as he took the positives from their draw with Celtic.

“That’s exactly what we want Ibrox to be like – the fans in the stadium excited and up and cheering the team, and the players jump in with that,” Beale told Rangers TV.

“We need to maintain that and we need to have that every single game here because that makes us a much stronger team and a much stronger club when it’s like that. The atmosphere was fantastic.

“I thought it was a good game, two teams went head to head and there was nothing in it. If anything, we should be more clinical and then maybe we go away with the three points.”
